- For Students
The Pitt Mobile App Challenge gives Pitt undergraduate students at all campuses the chance to share their mobile app ideas with the Pitt community and the opportunity to win some terrific prizes, including up to $4,000 in Amazon gift cards!
You can tackle one of five specific challenges or create your own challenge. Once you choose your challenge, you can participate in one of two categories:
• Show It: Create a visual mockup of your app that shows what it would look like and how it would work. The winning entry receives $2,000 in Amazon gift cards. Second place receives $1,000 in Amazon gift cards, and third place receives $500 in Amazon gift cards.
• Code It: Build a working prototype of your app that functions on a mobile device and upload a two-minute video demo showing your app in action. The winning entry receives $4,000 in Amazon gift cards. Second place receives $2,000 in Amazon gift cards, and third place receives $1,000 in Amazon gift cards.
You can work alone or as part of a team. All winners will be determined by a combination of student voting and scores awarded by a panel of judges.
Entries are due by March 27. Voting and judging will take place from April 3 to April 16. Visit the Pitt Mobile App Challenge Web page to choose your challenge, download the submission template, and review the rules. You’ll also find resour
ces to help you get started building your app.
